Syrian police center in Hasakah bombed

Hasakah, Syria – An explosion hit on Saturday the center of Hasakah city, targeting the city’s Police Command Center adjacent to al-Hal market, with a motorcycle bomb parked near the police station.

An witnesses told ARA News that the attack led to the death of a police officer and the injury of several others.

“The attack claimed lives of several civilians, including 4 children, while some others were seriously injured,” the same source said. “Some of the bombing fragments reached the nearby Guerran neighbourhood, leaving behind severe damage to some buildings and shops adjacent to the police station near the governorate building.” 

The explosion is considered the largest among three explosions wich hit Hasakah on Saturday. It was preceded by two explosions one of which targeted a vehicle belonging to the Kurdish forces of the Popular Protection Units (YPG) –arm wing of the Democratic Union Party (PYD)– in al-Musherfa suburb north of the city, while the other took place near Zuhdi furnace in al-Aziziya neighbourhood.

No party adopted Saturday’s bombings in Hasakah.

On the other hand, the YPG did not release any statement regarding the bombings which targeted their military vehicle or the casualties recorded in their ranks during the attack.
